WELCOME TO WORLD ISLAMIC FINANCE SUMMIT

In September 2011, Pakistan witnessed a mega conference of international standard titled 'World Islamic Finance Summit'. It was held in Karachi and organized by Publicitas Conferences under the patronage of the State Bank of Pakistan.

The Summit was marked by a record participation of more than 300 senior professionals directly or indirectly attached with the Islamic financial sector. It also had the presence of more than 50 distinguished top level executives and scholars who spoke during this auspicious gathering of intellectuals and industry stalwarts. The Summit comprised interactive panel discussions and a 60 minutes Shariah dialogue session.

The Chief Guest for the Inaugural session was Muhammad Kamran Shehzad – Acting Governor, State Bank of Pakistan while the Guest of Honor was Nisar A. Memon - Former Federal Information Minister. A Special address was presented by Justice (Retd.) Muhammad Taqi Usmani Sahib and the key note address was presented by Sirajuddin Aziz - CEO, Bank Alfalah Limited. The theme for the second day was set by an opening note delivered by Dr Anis Ahmed – Vice Chancellor Riphah International University. The Chief Guest for the closing session was Muhammad Ali – Chairman SECP while the Guest of Honor was Syed Salim Raza – Former Governor, State Bank of Pakistan.
